Paradzai Chigogora, born on May 13, 1977, in Chitungwiza, is a seasoned pool player and a respected figure in the pool community. His journey in pool began during the Millennium era in Chitungwiza, and he joined the professional pool league in 2006–2007.

In 2017, after relocating to Waterfalls, he joined the Waterfalls Pool Club and has been a key player since the birth of the Nevsun Premier Pool League (NPPL). His leadership skills shone through when he captained the Waterfalls Pool Club from 2019 to 2022. During this period, he also served as a councillor for PPL, contributing to the growth and development of the league.

In 2023, Paradzai joined the Muridziwenyaya Pool Club and served as the Secretary-General for the club, further cementing his commitment to the sport. His dedication and hard work were recognized when he was appointed as the Vice Chairman of the Nevsun Premier Pool League (NPPL) in 2024.

Paradzai Chigogora’s journey is a testament to his passion for the game and his commitment to the pool community. As the Vice Chairman of the NPPL, he continues to work towards the growth and development of the sport, inspiring others with his journey from a pool player to a leader in the community. EXECUTIVE MEMBER NAME:        SIMBARASHE DEVON HOKONYA
DESIGNATION:                            DEPUTY SECRETARY GENERAL

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Born on February 19, 1998, Simbarashe Devon Hokonya is a passionate pool player hailing from Southlea Park. His journey in the world of pool began in 2012 when he started playing for a social club. His love for the game and his natural talent soon led him to the professional arena.

In 2018, Simbarashe joined the Niceday Snipers, a professional pool team competing in the Harare Professional Pool League (HPPL). The club underwent a transformation in 2020 and was renamed Niceday Select. Simbarashe’s dedication to the sport and his team was recognized in 2021 when he was appointed as the club umpire.

Simbarashe’s commitment to his team and the sport was evident when Niceday Select finished 2nd in the HPPL in 2022. His leadership skills were further acknowledged when he was appointed as the club’s Secretary General in 2023, a role he continues to hold.

In the same year, Simbarashe and his team joined the Nevsun Premier Pool League (NPPL) under the banner of Niceday Select. They made a strong impression in their debut year, finishing 6th on the log table.

Simbarashe’s journey took another exciting turn in 2024 when he was elected as the League Deputy Secretary General for the NPPL. His story is a testament to his dedication, passion, and commitment to the sport of pool. As he continues to serve in his current role, there is no doubt that he will continue to make significant contributions to the sport of pool.

EXECUTIVE MEMBER NAME:        BYRON DENHERE
DESIGNATION:                            HEAD UMPIRE

eXECUTIVE SUMMARY


Byron has been in pool circles for more than 10 years playing and umpiring. Co-founder of Shumba Pool Club in Kwekwe in 2011 before moving to South Africa. 2022 permanently relocated back to Zimbabwe and Co-founded Killarz pool club with the current Chairman, Rutendo Nyatsuro, Kudzi Genti (Vice Chairperson), Rethabile (Former Captain now SG) and McDonald Dzomba (TG). He was nominated as the best Umpire of NPPL 2023 season, after a successful run in the national setup and panel of referees at District, Provincial and national levels. Byron step Down as the Secretary General of Killarz pool club after being elected as the Head Referee of the NPPL. He is in the current HPPA Referees Executive and one of the top ZIPA referees.

Byron holds a class 1 refereeing license with ZIPA, recently qualified as an international Referee after a successful seminar held by Kistern Kobus with author of the Black Ball rules. Well decorated sports administrator and pool referee. Other than pool, Byron is a professional cricketer, having represented Zimbabwe from a tender age of 13 and playing in the age groups up to U19. As a qualified level 2 coach in cricket, he has coached and played around the globe.

DESIGNATION:                            SECRETARY FOR DEVELOPMENT

Davias Diwa, a resident of the serene Waterfalls, is a man of action and ambition. Currently serving as the Secretary for Development for the Nevsun Premier Pool League (NPPL), Davias is a firm believer in continuous improvement and has a burning passion for the sport of pool.

His journey in the pool sport began in 2016 when he joined the Zindoga Pool Club. His dedication and commitment to the club were quickly recognized, leading to his appointment as the Treasurer for Zindoga PC from 2016 to 2017. Always seeking new challenges and opportunities for growth, Davias co-founded the Legends Pool Club in 2018. His financial acumen and leadership skills were once again put to good use as he served as the Treasurer for Legends PC from 2018 to 2020.

In 2020, Davias took on the role of Secretary General for Legends PC, a position he holds to this day. His leadership and dedication to the sport were further recognized in 2024 when he was elected as the NPPL Secretary for Development.

Davias is not just about titles and positions. He is a man on a mission. He is determined to fight against drug abuse and is committed to enabling youngsters to develop careers in pool sport. His high ambitions extend to improving pool standards within the NPPL and beyond.

In every role he has undertaken, Davias Diwa has shown an unwavering commitment to the sport of pool. His journey is a testament to his belief in continuous improvement and his dedication to the sport he loves. As he continues to serve in his current role, there is no doubt that he will continue to make significant contributions to the sport of pool.

DESIGNATION:                            WOMEN'S REPRESENTATIVE

Born on the cusp of the digital revolution, Lorraine Muwuya (November 26, 1978) has captured the world through her lens and conquered it on the pool table. Her journey into the heart of photojournalism began with a passion for storytelling, a journey that has taken her to the pinnacle of visual narratives.

In 2012, Lorraine’s adventurous spirit led her to the vibrant pool halls of the USA, where she discovered another form of artistry—pool. With a cue in hand and a keen eye for angles, she swiftly rose through the ranks, joining the esteemed U.S.B Pool Club in 2021. There, she not only showcased her prowess as a player but also demonstrated her leadership as Vice-Chairperson until 2023.

Her flair for media and sports converged when she joined the Z.I.P.A Media Team, serving from 2022 to 2023. In this role, she became the voice and vision behind the lens, chronicling the dynamic world of pool.

Today, Lorraine stands as a pillar of the Nevsun Premier Pool League and the Harare Province Pool Association, holding the esteemed title of Women in Pool Representative. In this executive role, she is not just a participant but a beacon for aspiring women in the sport, advocating for excellence and empowerment on and off the green felt.

As the Lady Representative of the NPPL, Lorraine Muwuya is more than a titleholder; she is a trailblazer, a mentor, and the embodiment of grace under pressure. Her story is one of breaking barriers and building bridges in the world of pool—a tale that continues to inspire and resonate across the globe.

EXECUTIVE MEMBER NAME:        FRANCIS K MUKWEKWE
DESIGNATION:                            MEDIA

eXECUTIVE SUMMARY


Francis K. Mukwekwe, born on August 26, 1996, is a man of many talents. He is a professional pool player, a videographer, and a photographer. His journey in the world of pool began in 2015, and since then, he has been making waves in the pool community.

His first stint was with the Statehouse Pool Club from 2016 to 2019, where he competed in the Zambia Blackball Pool League. His skills and dedication to the game led him to the BnB Ruwa Pool Club in 2022, where he played until 2024. During his time there, he participated in the Eastern Pool League and the Nevsun Premier Pool League.

But Francis’s contributions to the pool community extend beyond his prowess at the table. In 2023, he took on the role of Media & Publicity for the Nevsun Premier Pool League (NPPL). As an Executive Member of the NPPL, Francis is the official media guy, responsible for live streaming and capturing all the key moments related to the league.

His keen eye for detail, honed by years of photography and videography, allows him to capture the intensity, the strategy, and the artistry of the game in a way few others can. His work not only promotes the league but also brings the excitement and passion of the game to a wider audience.

Francis K. Mukwekwe is more than just a pool player; he is a storyteller, capturing the highs, the lows, the triumphs, and the heartbreaks of the game we all love. Through his lens, every game is a story, and every player is a hero. His dedication to the game and his craft make him an invaluable member of the NPPL and the pool community as a whole!
